Meet Meg: The Story Behind the Stories

I’m Meg, a Yorkshire-born author with an ink-stained heart, a perpetually full teacup, and an unwavering belief that stories are our sanctuaries.

I write romantasy: slow-burn fantasy romances with the kind of heroines you root for even when everything is against them, fate-destined romances that protect and empower our heroine, and forged families woven with care and love to surround them. My worlds live somewhere between the cosy and the dark, where warmth and danger exist in the same breath, love is hard-won and worth every page, and where the emotional depth leaves you, the reader, changed for the better

Home is the north of England, where the moors are wide, windswept, and endlessly inspiring. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me hunting inspiration in nature, baking something delicious, or curled up with a book—always with a cup of tea close to hand. I share my life with my husband, young son, a lovable golden retriever, and two thoroughly mischievous cats who are convinced they are the real bosses in this house.

Above all, I write for readers who need healing, hope, and somewhere to belong. Stories saved me, shaped me, and brought me the most wonderful community, both on and off the page. I hope mine do the same for you. You are always welcome between my pages, and I hope they give you what you need.

Fun facts

I’m powered entirely by tea. Earl Grey Tea, specifically. This is non-negotiable.
My cats have strong opinions about manuscript quality and express them by sitting on the keyboard or yowling at me at critical moments. None of their observations have made it into a manuscript yet, but never say never. Meow.
I bake the way I write: with enthusiasm, ambition, and occasional spectacular chaos. Emotional support bread-baking is a form of self-therapy.

I am an unapologetic mood reader; life is too short to read books that don’t light up your heart. DNF and move right on!
I firmly believe buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies, and you cannot convince me otherwise. Other people hoard treasures, I hoard books. I make zero apologies; life is better with painted edges, foiled covers, and the scent of unread pages.
Ten year old me always fantasized about being an author, didn’t dare hope it would happen: it did. Crafting and sharing stories is my life-long dream. I still do a little happy dance when I remember I really did hit the USA Today Bestseller list!
